The NAT, San Diego's Natural History Museum in Balboa Park

The Nat- Natural History Museum

The San Diego Natural History Museum, often fondly referred to as "The NAT" by locals, is one the most popular sights in Balboa Park. The Nat has a vast growing collection of over 8 million specimens that catalogs the evolution and diversity of Southern California and the Baja California Peninsula. The Nat has five floors,  each with its own unique focus. I recommend taking the elevator to the top floor and then using the staircase to make your way down back to the ground floor.
There is so much to see and do at the Nat including a newly opened nature trail, a movie theater, and a living lab that you should at least set aside 2 hours when visiting.
If you are a resident of San Diego or San Diego County you can get free entry as part of the Balboa Park Free Resident Day on the FIRST TUESDAY of the Month

Visit The NATs website for currents Exibitions, Events, Pricing and Hours at https://www.sdnhm.org/
