On Saturday August 17, 2024 the Sun & Sea Festival returned to Imperial Beach after a few year absence.
Next to Pier Plaza volunteers constructed the largest sand castle on Imperial Beach. Over 80 cubic yards of sand was trucked in for the festival. Over 2 days volunteers used shovels and hand tools to remove and sculpt the sand into a retro themed 80s "Back 2IB" sand castle.
